Soon after Tony Blair was elected as Prime Minister of the UK, Princess Diana was killed in an mysterious car accident. Since she was not currently part of the royal family, the royal family kept their distance, but this went down badly with the public. Tony Blair attempted to persuade the queen to show more public grief, but in the end she convinced him that her way was best.
